The Conservation Guidebook: A Resource for Southeastern Wisconsin Land and Landscape Management is an urban planning capstone project developed to provide accessible, practical guidance for managing open space. Designed for residents, developers, and community organizations, the guidebook compiles best practices for conserving fields, woodlands, parks, riparian areas, and other landscapes through strategies such as native landscaping, green infrastructure, and invasive species management. It translates complex ecological concepts into clear, actionable tools supported by visuals, templates, and step-by-step techniques to help users improve biodiversity, manage stormwater, and enhance climate resilience. By empowering a wide range of land stewards with knowledge and resources, the project advances more sustainable and coordinated open space management across Southeastern Wisconsin.
