dc.description.abstractIn his July 2025 interview with Edwin Elizabeth Thomas, Nicholas Syrett describes his role as the incoming chair of the Gender & Women’s Studies (GWS) Department at UW-Madison. He discusses his initial interest in the GWS field, citing the influence of his feminist mother and taking GWS courses during his undergraduate studies. He previously worked as an associate dean at the University of Kansas’s College of Liberal Arts and Sciences before accepting his new position at UW-Madison. This interview was conducted for inclusion into the GWS @ 50 Oral History Project of the UW-Madison Archives & Records Management oral history collection.en_US
