    Abstract
    Dichlorvos (2,2-dichlorovinyl dimethyl phosphate or DDVP) is a colorless to amber liquid organophosphate insecticide used to control pests in stored grain, on livestock and on pets. It is highly soluble in water, and may enter the aquatic environment via effluents from chemical plants where it is manufactured, from run-off at sites of application, or from spills.
