    Abstract
According the Journal of the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry approximately 11% of children 4-17 years of age are diagnosed with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). The number of diagnosis has increased 5% per year form 2003-2011. There is a strong link between physical activity, proper nutrition, and management of the symptoms of ADHD. Daily physical activity and healthy nutritional food choices activity have been shown to help manage the symptoms in some children with ADHD. Specific nutrients such as refined sugars, essential fatty acids, zinc, iron and magnesium have shown to have an effect on some of the symptoms of ADHD.
