    Abstract
The goal of this research was to improve the working environment and efficiency by applying lean tools within the packaging area of Company XYZ. This researcher applied the 5S workplace organization method to improve the conditions. This study focused on waste reduction to re-design new layout within the packaging area. The new layout involved rearrangement of tools and raw materials to improve production efficiency. The A3 report was used to investigate and analysis the existing situation, and to provide insight for the improvements. After implementing 5S methodology, the packaging area became a standard of a clean, efficient, and well-organized workplace. 5S also resulted in less employee stress, increased production, more workspace, and an increase in company profits.
