The goal of this paper was determine the website usability features users value when they visit a
business’s website. To accomplish this goal, the researcher examined the website of a local used
bookstore, ABC Bookstore. After performing a comprehensive review of the literature and
determining the categories of website usability for study, the researcher generated a
questionnaire. The researcher invited graduate students to participate in an online questionnaire.
After collecting data from the online questionnaire, the researcher analyzed the results of the
responses to determine what features of usability ABC Bookstore’s website needed to improve.
The results of the questionnaire indicated that ABC Bookstore’s website is functional and usable;
however, the website had some issues that prevented it from being more user-friendly. After
making conclusions, the researcher provided recommendations that ABC Bookstore can
implement on their website and offered a prototype of a redesigned homepage.
