    Abstract
This paper addresses the issue of teacher bias toward ethnic minority students in the classroom, specifically the negative impacts on students’ academic performance and classroom behavior. Due to the increase of ethnic minorities in schools this issue is becoming even more prevalent. Teacher bias is presenting itself in many different forms with the outcomes negatively affecting the students. This paper will cover the areas of academic performance and classroom behavior, as well as the difference between minority groups and the ethnicity of the teacher.
