    Abstract
The number of children diagnosed with ADHD is on the rise in schools across the country. Educators are open to interventions and ideas to support children who are struggling academically due to organizational skill deficits. Children with ADHD may have a varied range of problem behaviors that may include inattention, hostility, argumentativeness and stubbornness that may also impact classroom learning. Students with ADHD may be more likely to engage in high-risk behaviors including smoking, drug use, and sexual activity than those students who were not diagnosed that could create problems within their families and with their peers at school. School counselors play an important role in supporting educators and students and may be available to offer help with academic, social, and emotional interventions that help youth achieve his or her personal best.
