Project management leadership styles and their effects on virtual teams
Abstract
This paper will focus on various project management leadership styles and their roles in leading teams. For years now, and especially since the COVID-19 pandemic, project teams have been able to work remotely globally. Regardless of where a person is physically, they can collaborate, communicate, and function as a member of a larger contingent to complete project work to varying degrees of efficiency.
Many discussions exist about how a person can work in that environment, and those even provide some tips and tricks to help remote workers excel in those roles. However, what about the project leaders themselves and the type of leadership that they bring to those virtual teams? This paper seeks to discover the differences, similarities, and other qualities of diverse types of leadership and gauge just how they fit within the remote working environment.
