    Abstract
During Grandparents University, Sustainable Energy Solutions Major, Finnian Bussey, interviews his grandparent Jeff Bartell about how his relationship with energy has changed throughout his lifetime. Bartell describes how as a child, he wasn’t aware of where energy was coming from and how it was not often talked about. It wasn’t until 3-4 decades later that Bartell began to see changes in the way people approached renewable energy and climate change. Bartell is hopeful that his grandson, Finnian, as well as others in his generation will be a part of the transition to a more sustainable future. This story was collected in collaboration with UW-Madison’s Oral History Program.
