    Abstract
The importance of creative thinking is often stated in the field of engineering and in our courses. This makes sense as engineering often requires original solutions to unique problems. However, this relationship is rarely discussed the other way around. My goal is to explore how engineering techniques and tools can aid in the creation of art, specifically fashion. To do this, I will be working with Professor CV Peterson as my mentor to produce a collection of four pieces. While working on each piece, I will be documenting how the tools I use from both traditional sewing and engineering helped me create it. Furthermore, I will explain how each piece helped me achieve my goal.
