    Abstract
Gender stereotypes present in several fields have been of contemporary concern and broadly studied. • Perceptions regarding level of intelligence and ability to be politically successful consistently favor men (Liu, 2019; Storage et al., 2020). • The rise in unregulated online content has created a platform where these negative ideas are perpetuated, especially among the politically extreme right (M. M. Albrecht, 2022; Vallerga & Zurbriggen, 2022). This study aimed to understand the potential relationship between engaging with politically fringe media and perceived intelligence of the opposite gender.
