The concept behind our project is quite literal- the fear of cats is something tangible and common, so we wanted to portray as many of those real-life terrifying features as possible in our cat creature. While our fear is something very real, we abstracted the concept slightly to hopefully give the resulting creature some more creep factor. Long and uncanny features were created to draw attention to what those fear most. We also wanted to do something different from most ideas- instead of an outfit (like a non-fabric dress) it would be a large creepy costume that really embodies the fear. Breaking away from the norm in this way allowed us to set our imaginations free and go for a big project. Lots of thinking, debating, and brainstorming went into the creation of this creature. Over the short time we have had to work on it, it has had numerous forms, designs, and prototypes. The result of all these tests will surely be a grand finish for our Fashion Without Fabric entry.en_US
