    Abstract
    This study is a quest to find an efficient and effective way of teaching fundamentals to students in high school wind band through an analysis of four high school-level band method books. Included are insightful interviews with six experienced band directors in the field that reinforce the author's findings that fundamentals are important for high school musicians.
