    Abstract
In her 2016 interview, Jasmin Sanchez recounts her time as a first generation student at UW-Madison. She speaks on how she was unsure of whether she would attend college, and the struggles she faced in acclimating to university life. She mentions working for the Center for Educational Opportunity, a program for first gen students that initially helped her transition into college. Jasmin speaks about a few class projects she was involved in and how they were empowering for minority students. She also touches on the general campus climate regarding race, bias, and microaggressions, along with how she has personally been affected by such campus conditions, including being taken seriously as a student of color. This interview was conducted for inclusion into the TheRealUW Project of the UW-Madison Archives and Records Management Oral History collection.
