Oral History Interview, Carl de Boor (859)
Abstract
In this 2007 interview, Carl de Boor details his family background, his early life in Germany, and his immigration to the US in the late 1950s. Boor also chronicles his education, including the completion of his PhD and his work experience at General Motors. Boor details his teaching and research pursuits, particularly his work on splines, which culminated the awarding of a National Medal of Science in 2003. This interview was conducted for inclusion into the UW-Madison Archives and Records Management oral history collection.
