    Abstract
This study examines the application, Elmo Loves ABCs for the iPad in regards to preschool children's letter identification. The study investigates the benefits of using the Elmo Loves ABCs application, in addition to pre-kindergarten curriculum to teach four and five year old children. Technology is more prominent in education every day and there is a need to find the most beneficial technology for teaching children's literacy. With all of the applications available on iPads and handheld tablets, there is a need to research if the applications are beneficial for children's literacy development. In this study, four pre-kindergarten students interacted with the Elmo Loves ABCs application for four minutes a day, three times a week for a month. The study indicated that in addition to the regular curriculum, the Elmo Loves ABCs application was beneficial in helping students identify letters.
