Abstract

Why start another newspaper? Nobody reads the ones we've got now. This statement is itself the answer to the question. Although it is not entirely true, it is not an uncommon feeling, With nicknames like "The Dumb County News", "The Dunn County Snooze" and "The Stupid-tonia", it seems pretty obvious to us that an alternative source of local news and information is necessary. We agree with these opinions at ti~es, and hope that our publication of the Wolske's Bay Star will reflect what we believe to be quality local journalism, and that you the reader will approve. We also believe there is another need that cRn be ~et by the Star, It is our intention to make it a publication that can be shared by both local residents and Stout Students. We have been both, and see no big differences between the groups. We have also seen the misconceptions that members of one group have of the other and vice versa. It is our intent to help eliminate those misconceptions.
