Editor's Note The Creative Arts Journal: Termites is a valuable part of the culture at UW-Stout. It is through this publication that talented students from this campus can be recognized for their special efforts. Termites also enable5 dedicated students to have the opportunity to learn about editing, publishing, and the professionalism involved in creating a journal publication. I'd like to thank the Cultural Commission for its support and help with making this issue become a reality. Special thanks are also due to our faculty advisors Gerry Laine and Susan Thurin and to the Art and English faculty who judged the con-test: Fiction-Sandy Dewitz and George Wehrs, Nonfiction-Mary Carrigg and Dick Gardner, Poetry-Warren Lang and Bob Schuler, Photography-Bob Meier, Art-Rob Price and Ron Verdon. I hope in the years to come that Termites will be able to be funded adequately to continue its strive for excellence as an in-dispensable part of Stout.
