Abstract
We thank the Cultural Commission for its enthusiastic support. We thank the Fine Arts Association for its cooperation in giving us $150 of its funds which allowed us to raise the dollar amount of awards in all six categories. And, where would we be without the panel of judges? Thank you Robert Meier, Doug Cumming, William Lame, Todd Boppel, Charles Wimmer, and Gerry Laine. Thank you Bill Siedlecki for helping us thru the red tape, masking tape, and strapping tape!

Description
Termites' First Annual Contest in the Literary and Visual Arts, 1977-1978. The purpose of Termites' contest is to encourage creativity in the arts through publication and modest cash prizes (honorariums). Excellence is our prime criterion. Work submitted this year easily merited second and third prizes, but our funds were limited.
