Editor's Note: One of our main goals this year for Prometheus was to become better known to the student body, so that more people could have the opportunity of seeing themselves "in print." I think we succeeded in that goal. Our magazine had more submissions this year than ever before, in many categories. The judges who chose our prize-winners this year had a tough assignment, and did a fine job of choosing from among all the entries. We appreciate their help. The judges for the Art category were Rob Price and Paul Delong; for Photography, Marty Springer; for Poetry, Melanie Richards and Robert Schuler; for Fiction, Richard Gardner and David McCordick; and Nonfiction (and also the Fleming Award), Ray Barlow, Richard Gardner, Claudia Kinville, Melanie Richards, William O'Neill, and Evelyn Jenson. The advisor to Prometheus, Warren Lang, has once again performed the delicate task of guiding the staff without leading us by the nose. Our magazine is truly a group effort, and Mr. Lang respects that. We are lucky to have him

Seventh Annual Contest in the Literary and Visual Arts, 1984. The purpose of the Prometheus contest is to encourage creativity in the Arts through publication and cash prizes.
