    Abstract
In this research project, the term digital learning environment (DLE) is defined as the learning management system (LMS) in combination with integrated applications and services like;  media management  plagiarism assessment tools  external textbook resources  exam proctoring tools DLEs support the learning process in both the traditional in-person and online classroom environments. At many institutions, students do not receive any onboarding training for using a DLE before being expected to use them for their courses. This study was conducted to establish an understanding on the level of impact DLE training may have on first-year students entering college and their use of a DLE system which in many cases is new to them.
