    Abstract
    In his October 2019 interview with Avery Pilot, Capital Times Editor Emeritus Dave Zweifel detailed his thoughts and memories as a member of both the Capital Times newspaper and the Wisconsin National Guard during the Vietnam War. Zweifel spoke of the time period from 1965-Present and on the following topics: The Wisconsin National Guard, Capital Times Newspaper, Vietnam War-era protest movements, and the University of Wisconsin, Madison. Zweifel also commented on the conflict between being a “newspaper man” and a member of the National Guard, as well as on journalistic coverage of the Act 10 protests in 2011. This interview was conducted for inclusion into the UW-Madison Oral History Program.
