This project was created with the intent of creating a resort where a middle-aged couple would be able to retire on a lake while still being able to earn a living as properties' owners. The part of the project I designed included a main lodge, that housed a banquet hall, restaurant, and common area. The project also included an 800 square foot cabin, which could have between 2-4 guests, with two bedrooms, a bathroom, kitchen, and living space. The goal of this lodge and resort design was to create a soothing and natural environment, that will embrace the outdoors and natural environment where the property is located in Northern Wisconsin. This was achieved through large windows, that let in natural light and allow easy viewing of the lake and forest. The materials used throughout the space reflect the nature present outside, by the use of warm woods and soothing yellows, blues, and greens. The style will be rustic and modern, which was shown through large wood beams and dark, sleek fireplaces, both in the main lodge and cabins. This resort was designed to be your home away from home, with amenities that can be enjoyed by the whole family, inside or outside.en_US
