    Abstract
    In her 2019 interview with Pat Calchina, Linda Novinger details her life in Madison. She spoke of the time period between 1968 (in Mauston, Wisconsin) to 2019 (bulk of interview between 1969 and 1980s) and of the following topics: being a closeted lesbian, teaching physical education in the public schools, job changes from teaching to working in group homes with teens to driving a bus with senior citizens, bars in madison, her deep friendship with a gay man, joining a women’s chorus, playing baseball and softball, Madison lesbian culture and political activism. This interview was conducted for inclusion into the project, Madison’s LGBT Community, 1960’s-Present, part of the UW-Madison Oral History Program’s general collection.
