Development of Rapid, Ready-to-Use, and Cost-Effective Water Test Kits for Detection of E. coli and Coliforms

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to formulate a water test kit that can determine if E.coli/Coliforms are present in a water sample, even if it is dirty water. Many current water test kits cannot test dirty water, require multiple days to obtain results, can be costly, and some kits occasionally give false negatives or false positives. The goal of this research is to formulate a kit that can provide quick and reliable results to consumers and industry professionals at a low price.
