For more than a century, one of the sole responsibilities of the National Safety Council has been to a reinforce workplace safety. No matter the size of a company or an industry, employers have a responsibility regarding their employees’ safety and protection. The legislation providing safety in the workplace is on Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Acts2005 and 2010. This regulation applies to all employers and their employees, including temporary, self-employed and fixed-term at their work places. This act strives to protect the rights and obligations of both employees and company owners and also seeks to ensure the proper penalties and fines have for breaches to this legislation. This paper seeks to investigate the safety issues surrounding XYZ and the steps taken by the management to ensure that all employee’ health and safety concepts are protected. Using direct observation, the data collected and analyzed will help shed some light in the risk assessment and control methods used by XYZ Company. This analysis will also show the effectiveness of XYZ’s health and safety procedures.
