The primary goals of an onboarding program for new employees are to increase performance, assimilate employees into the organization, generate job satisfaction while reducing turnover. Onboarding programs have recently expanded from what was previously known as orientation. Organizations utilizing comprehensive, structured onboarding programs have increased productivity and reduced turnover while raising revenue through a consistent presentation of content to engage newcomers. Company XYZ had experienced significant employee turnover within its onboarding program. This paper examined and analyzed the current onboarding program at Company XYZ concerning the high employee turnover the organization has recently experienced. Through a collection of data from the organization’s staff and leadership accompanied with a document analysis of Company XYZ’s onboarding content, recommendations were presented to align onboarding best practices.
