The purpose of the study was to assess the current e-liquid storage and handling practices at Company XYZ. The first goal of the study consisted of evaluating the storage processes and procedures of e-liquid to identify potential hazards and regulatory violations. The second goal was to evaluate the handling processes and procedures of e-liquid for effectiveness in preventing riskbased loss. The researcher utilized scholarly articles and government-recognized industry standards to gather background information on each goal. A survey instrument was developed based on NFPA 30 Flammable and Combustible Liquids Code, applicable OSHA regulations, the International Fire Code (IFC), and the NIOSH Publication Number 2004-101 which provided a flammable and combustible liquid checklist. The researcher evaluated Company XYZ’s e-liquid storage and handling practices using the aforementioned survey. Based on the survey results, several opportunities were identified to improve e-liquid storage and handling processes. The researcher recommends Company XYZ establish control areas for e-liquid and associated hazardous materials storage.
