Abstract
In this interview, Madison resident Dino Maniaci talks about his experiences as a gay man from the 1970s to the present, particularly during the 1980s and 1990s. He describes the gay communities in Kansas City, Missouri; New York City; and Madison, as well as the realities and effects of the AIDS epidemic during the 1980s. He also talks about starting and running Woof’s, a gay bar in Madison, since 2006. Maniaci also talks about the generational differences in the gay community today, as well as the changes occurring in the gay community.
