    Abstract
As an organization in the automotive industry, Modine Manufacturing Company is always looking for ways to remain competitive with their industry leading heat transfer products. Modine had the opportunity to improve their process documentation when it related to their equipment and tooling within their manufacturing processes. Using documentation and lean tools to eliminate wasted scrap material, movement and time helped save the company money and remain competitive for their customers. The objective of the study was to document machine setups and prevent machine operators from using the trial and error method to setup a machine creating unnecessary waste. The machine operators were able to validate setup processes to ensure repeatability. After the process documentation was created and implemented on production lines, Modine Manufacturing Company was realizing the benefits almost immediately.
