This is one of a series of interviews conducted by WHA Radio Station, Madison, Wisconsin, on the history of Menomonie. The interviews were done in cooperation with the Dunn County Historical Society. They were recorded in the summer of 1974, edited, and broadcast in a four-part program aired in December of that year. Phelan discusses the 1920's in Menomonie, including Ku Klux Klan activities, bootleggers during Prohibition, and social life. He also talks about prominent Menomonie families and individuals.
