    Abstract
    Tape recorded interviews conducted in 1991 by Dr. Robert Swanson with Dr. Wesley Face. Dr. Face earned his Bachelor of Science in industrial education and history in 1951 at Northern State Teacher's College in South Dakota. He received the Master of Science in education degree in 1963 from the University of Illinois. He taught in Air Force technical schools, high school industrial arts classes, and served as an industrial education instructor at Stout for 12 years. He was promoted to chair of the Metals Department and served as Assistant Dean of the Graduate School. He was university curriculum coordinator and Assistant Vice President before becoming Vice President/Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, Following the retirement of Chancellor Swanson, Face became acting Chancellor. In 1990 he was named to be the first James Huff Stout Professorship for distinguished service.
