    Abstract
    A brief tape recorded interview with Cliff Gauthier conducted in Menomonie, Wisconsin on May 11, 1990 by Gordon Jones. Gauthier was born in 1927. He graduated from high school in International Falls in 1945 and then spent two years in the Navy. He attended St. Clooud State College, Bemidji State College, and Boston College. He joined the faculty at Stout in 1963 as a memeber of the Mathematics Department. He remained at Stout until his retirement in 1990. That same year he was awarded emeritus status by the Board of Regents.
