    Abstract
    Tape recorded interview conducted in September, 1983, with Emma Markham by Jean O'Neill. Ms. Markham was from a very poor family in North Menomonie. She worked as a maid for the George Decker family at one time and lived all her life in Menomonie. The interview includes discussion of her home life, meals, homemaking, entertainment, illness, and a better life for her children.
