    Abstract
    A tape recorded interview of Mary McLean Ramsey conducted in September 1983 by Jean O'Neill. Mary Ramsey was the granddaughter of Frank J. McLean (a lawyer who organized the First National Bank of Menomonie, the Menomonie Hotel Company, and Excelsior Brick Company) and Mary A. Wilson (daughter of Captain William and Angeline Wilson). Her parents were James P. McLean (president of Excelsior Brick Company) and Ada E. Lewis McLean. Mrs. Ramsey married Ronald W. Ramsey and lived in several places throughout the U.S. before returning to Menomonie, Wisconsin. The interview includes discussion of her parent's home in Menomonie, early social and recreational activities in Menomonie, religion, her education at Emma Willard Preparatory School in Troy, New York and at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, her marriage, her children, and miscellaneous subjects.
