DULUTH SUPERIOR HARBOR FISHERY SURVEY - PROGRESS REPORT
Abstract
Field work for the Duluth-Superior Harbor Fishery Survey was initiated on 11 April. Sampling has
been conducted with an electrofishing boat (generally using 250 volt, 11 amp, D.C. current),
fyke nets_ (3 x 6' front_hoop-¾_40'--and-80 leads, 1" square mesh), seine (25' long, 3/8"
square mesh), and meter net(500 micron plankton net, 1 meter in diameter). Efforts have included 14 days of electrofishing,
22 trap net sets, seining a minimum of 10 stations every other week, and weekly meter net hauls in
