    Abstract
    Tape recorded interview conducted in January, 1981 by Dr. Philip Ruehl, representing the University of Wisconsin-Stout Oral History Program, with Dr. Herbert Anderson, Dean Emeritus of the Stout School of Industry and Technology. The interview includes discussion of the American Industry Project, the Industrial Technology Program, Stout's impact on industrial education internationally, development of the Schools of Industry and Technology, the Industrial Design Program and the Art Department, origin of separation of academic programs and departments, Stout's Industrial Education Conference, the Wisconsin Industrial Education Association, the Mississippi Valley Industrial Arts Conference, development of SIT's field experience and internship programs, establishment of the Board of Industrial Advisors, and faculty housing in 1948.
