Acute Toxicity of Toxaphene to the Snail Physa Sp.

Abstract

An acute 96-h static toxicity test with toxaphene was conducted using a pulmonate snail, Physa sp. as the test organism. The toxicity test was designed to generate LCSO values at 4, 8, 24, 48, 72 and 96 h of exposure. The test was conducted at the University of Wisconsin-Superior (UW-S) testing facilities according to procedures recommended by the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM 1993). ·
