    Abstract
Organizations are faced with the challenges of performance issues, low motivation, and communication problems within the workplace. In the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, businesses throughout the world have been forced to revise work policies and practices to effectively manage the unforeseen effects. One challenge was keeping remote employees engaged. Six interviews were completed with participants who were at the manager or supervisory level and who led remote staff. The data from the interview was correlated with the available literature on remote working and employee engagement. Recommendations were made on how to provide support and create a healthy virtual workplace environment while managing employee needs while working remotely.
