This report describes the fish research completed on Little Rock Lake, Vilas County, Wisconsin, prior to an artificial acidification of one of its two basins. Other research projects focusing on water chemistry, nutrient cycling, zooplankton dynamics, macroinvertebrates and ground water movements were planned arid. conducted to provide thorough understanding of the system prior to the acidification phase. The results of these studies are reported elsewhere. Information gained through these. studies will serve as a baseline against which changes induced by acidification can be compared. The research design also provides for comparisons to be made between the acidified and reference basins and between Little Rock lake and five<other regional lakes under study by the University of Wisconsin.:...Madison (Magnuson j;_ E:!l 1982>.en_US
