    A women's studies minor was first approved at Stout by the board of regents in the late 1970s. Required courses for the minor include an Introduction to Women's Studies, Sociology of Sex Roles, Family Relationships, Assertive Training Procedures, Psychology of Women, and either Women Writers or Women in Art History.
