Description
In the fall of 1971, Wisconsin Governor Patrick Lucey signed into law a bill merging the University of Wisconsin and the Wisconsin State Universities to create one of the largest systems of higher education in the country. Under the law, Stout retained its name and was to be officially known as the University of Wisconsin-Stout.
