Reservoir Ecosystem Models are computerized mathematical models constructed to simulate real-world physical, chemical and biological processes. A detailed description of considerations preliminary to using this kind of model is provided. A typical model - LIMNOS - is dissected as an example of the structure and functional makeup of Reservoir Ecosystem Models. Input files, program listings and output files are appended to provide the potential user with baseline model verification data.
