    Description
    Classes in clothing and household fabrics were included in the curriculum when Stout Training School for Teachers of Domestic Science and Art was established in 1903. The Department of Clothing and Textiles was formed in 1926, when the first major on that field was offered at Stout Institute. In 1970, the name of the Clothing, Textiles and Design Department was changed to Apparel, Textile Design.
