Description
Dr. Carlye Gilbertson arrived on the Stout campus in 1969 as Associate Professor and Chairman of the Guidance Department. He received his B.S. from Luther College and his M.S. and Ph.D. from the University of Wisconsin. In 1971, Gilbertson was named as head of an effort to gain the first degree beyond the Masters that has ever been offered at Stout (Ed.S. in Counseling and Guidance). Under Gilbertson's guidance, the Department of Counseling and the Department of Counseling and Psychological Services achieved a national reputation. Faculty emeritus Gilbertson retired in 1991.
