    Abstract
For hundreds of years, indigenous children have been taken away from their families and communities. The Indian Child Welfare Act of 1978 (ICWA) was passed to attempt to remedy the situation. Since the passing of the Act, children are still being removed at an alarming rate. Without knowing what the lasting effects and impacts are on these children, we as a society and agencies will not be able to help the situation. The purpose of this study is to continue research on adopted indigenous children.
