This paper describes a GPS methodology for cadastral surveying and mapping at the parcel level. It was designed to take into account the particular demands and realities of Albania, but it also has relevance to other developing countries which are in the process of developing a cadastre and land registration system (CLRS). The methodology is described in terms of office planning and preparation, field procedures, post-processing, and geodetic considerations. The latter part of the paper summarizes the field tests that were undertaken in Albania in order to test and refine the methodology. The methodology makes use of a new sub-meter receiver (Pathfinder PRO XL) which is used in a differential mode to provide accuracies to around one meter.en
