Abstract: In his three interviews in 1997 with Barry Teicher and Paul Morledge, Vincent Rideout provided insight into his youth, education, career, and retirement. In particular, Rideout details his interest in engineering, radar, and microwaves, as well as his work in the ?Manhattan Project.? Included in these interviews are descriptions of Rideout?s work at Bell Telephone Labs, UW, and the University of Hawaii, along with the textbooks he wrote. This interview was conducted for inclusion into the UW?Madison Oral History Program.
