Abstract:�In their 2011 interview with Pat Calchina, Behnke and Raniere talk about their 33 years together and the one child they raised. They spoke about coming to Madison to work in the public schools and falling in love. Ranieri was married and a court battle ensured over custody of their child. Additionally they discussed ways in which they received support in Madison, both within the lesbian community and within the larger community.
